H.M.S. Indefatigable

$110.00$400.00

From Geoff Hunt’s definitive series of prints ‘Fighting Sail 1773-1815’ depicting some of the naval ships of the period. The 44-Gun Razee H.M.S. Indefatigable was an exceptionally powerful frigate, cut down from a 64-gun ship but still carrying 24-pounder cannon. On 13-14 January 1797 she encountered the 74-gun Droits de l’Homme. After a running fight through the night in storm conditions the French battleship was wrecked on the Brittany coast.
