Hong Kong: A View of the Harbor at Sunset in 1870

$850.00

Hong Kong in 1870 was a picture of colonial elegance. All along the waterfront three or four storied white stone buildings with balconies on each upper floor looked out across the harbor toward the mainland. Only relatively small craft were berthed at the wharves across the street before them. Oceangoing vessels of significant size were anchored in deep water offshore to be serviced by fleets of sampans and small harbor junks.
