Le Bucentaure

$110.00$400.00

From Geoff Hunt’s definitive series of prints ‘Fighting Sail 1773-1815’ depicting some of the naval ships of the period. Le Bucentaure was a French 80-Gun Ship. Where the British used 98-gun three-deckers, the French preferred 80-gun two-deckers, of which this is the most famous example. Bucentaure, seen here off Toulon, served as Vice-Admiral Villeneuve’s flagship at the Battle of Trafalgar.
